Today we participated in some fun and games with Room 7 and Miss Smaill! It was great we played some fun games in the Gaga Pit and then we noticed that there was alot of honesty when we got out we were making sure we were being honest and managing ourselves. We then had a competition to see who could move the hoop around the circle without letting go of our hands. It was tricky but we had a great time and encouraged each other. Last week we learn’t about dog safety and how to be safe around dogs we don’t know. We watched a fun video and then for homework got to create a fun poster showing some of the main things we learn’t to keep us safe.

We had Garth come in to our class today and talk to us about the amount of sugar in the drinks that we drink. We were able to put the drinks in order from least amount of sugar to the most. It was interesting to see what had the most sugar and it was a bottle of E2. We then placed bags of sugar beside the bottles indicating the amount in each bottle. SO MUCH SUGAR!!!!!

As a class we decided that the best thing to drink is water as its free and has no sugar. HEALTHY

Some of the students in Room 10 got to opportunity to create pieces of art to display in the garden beside Room 6. We are very proud and thanks to the amazing job Mrs Meyers did with us we were able to create some awesome displays. Here they are and if you are around school come and check them out!!!

Last week Awa, Mihi-Rangi, Mrs Meyers and I painted fantails to put on the garden by Room 6. My fantail body is like a plum. It is shiny and has bright and dark colours on it.

First Poppy, Awa and I drew on a board and drew fantails and painted them. We used beautiful colours like brown, yellow and green outside of it. There was golden on the branch and the tail was white. I felt proud of myself and the other kids because we did a good job and the pictures are hanging in the school garden.

Last week six people went in to Room 9 these six people were Mihi-Rangi, Awa Poppy, Anika, Pyper and I. We designed the backgrounds for the fantails. Mrs Meyers mixed up the colours for us to use. I felt awesome because I was doing something fun like art.

I got to paint a background for some fantail pictures. The background I painted was dark green and dark blue. Mrs Meyers helped us by fixing up mistakes and darkening it. I felt amazing because I got to do a background of a fantail that is hanging next to the Room 6.

Three weeks ago Pyper and I painted the background of Poppy’s fantail. Mrs Meyers mixed up the paints. She mixed up blue and kowhai and green and light green and brown. We had to dab it on. There was a lot of dark and light green. Then Pyper and I did Mihi-Rangi’s there was a river down the bottom. The top looked very dark and light. My favourite part was when we got to dab the paint.

Today we learnt about what a shadow is and different ways that shadows are made. We had lots of fun drawing our buddies shadows and had to time it right between the sun going behind the clouds. Look at our awesome pictures
