Tinana When local designer Richard Murray redesigned our school crest, we incoporated our 'Tinana' - The Waka of Te Rarawa. On our waka, we all learn together.
The Phoenix Palms These palms are a prominent feature in our school. They frame our landscape and are an iconic landmark that welcomes visitors to Ahipara. In 1942, the Phoenix palms were planted by Mr. Wills the principal, as a memorial to the local soliders who fought in WW2.
Long John Silver In 1945 a very friendly, one legged seagull introduced himself to the children of the school. He become a regular visitor, a popular icon, a gift from the sea. He was fed very well and lovingly given the name 'Long John Silver'.
Tauroa Point The reef is a place of learning for everyone. We gather our food there, we learn from the diverse ecosystems which exist there and it is part of our local identity.
